AccuFin Services is hiring a Staff Accountant
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our remote team and support U.S.-based clients across a variety of industries.
This role is designed for an early-career accounting professional looking to build strong practical experience in bookkeeping, reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, financial reporting, and general accounting support.
The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of accounting fundamentals, strong Excel skills, and the ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced remote environment while working closely with senior accounting team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with day-to-day bookkeeping and general ledger accounting activities.
- Perform bank, credit card, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare and post routine journal entries under senior team guidance.
- Assist with accruals, prepayments, and other month-end accounting adjustments.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
- Review account activity and identify discrepancies or unusual transactions.
- Prepare and maintain supporting schedules and accounting documentation.
- Assist with financial reporting and account analysis.
- Work with multi-entity clients across different industries.
- Support senior accountants with client requests, reconciliations, and special accounting projects.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records in accordance with established procedures.
- Collaborate remotely with clients and internal team members while meeting assigned deadlines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Audit, Finance, or a related field.
- 0–2 years of accounting, bookkeeping, audit, or finance experience.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles, debits and credits, and financial statements.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, PivotTables, lookups, filtering, and data organization.
- Familiarity with QuickBooks Online is preferred.
- Exposure to NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or other ERP systems is a plus.
- Previous internship, bookkeeping, accounting, or audit experience is an advantage but not required.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to learn quickly, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while following established procedures and guidance.
- Flexibility with working hours when required.
- CPA or CMA studies/certification are a plus.
Preferred Experience
- Previous internship or entry-level experience in accounting, bookkeeping, audit, or finance.
- Experience working with U.S.-based clients or businesses.
- Exposure to QuickBooks Online or similar accounting software.
- Familiarity with NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or other ERP systems.
- Experience assisting with bank reconciliations, journal entries, supporting schedules, or month-end close activities.
- Experience working with multi-entity clients or businesses across different industries.
- Comfort working with financial data and performing reconciliations in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience working in a remote or deadline-driven accounting environment is a plus.
Work Arrangement
- Fully remote position.
- Candidates must have a reliable internet connection and a suitable remote working environment.
- Working hours may need to overlap with the client’s business hours. (Eastern Time)
